Closure notice

We are in the process of closing BMC Materials. You might wish to submit to BMC Biomedical Engineering or to Discover Materials, a fully open access journal committed to providing all authors a streamlined submission process, rapid review and publication, and a high level of author service at every stage.

Featured article: Multifunctional magnetic iron oxide nanoparticles

This review elaborates the structural and magnetic properties of Multifunctional magnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (MIONPs), specifically magnetite, maghemite and hematite, followed by the important synthetic methods that can be applied for biomedical approaches.

Introducing BMC Materials

Editor Harriet Manning and Chair of the Editorial Advisory Board for BMC Materials Professor Rodrigo Martins discuss the latest addition to the BMC Series portfolio in this BMC blog.
